Palestine Polytechnic University started to exist in 1978 with the motto of “A University that serves the society”. This motto has developed with the PPU for the past 40 years to accomplish the development of the local community at all levels. This is done through providing academic programs, scientific research, lifelong learning, technical and technological consultations and solutions, in addition to building partnerships with local and international partners to serve the communities to overcome their vulnerabilities whether they are economical, social, environmental or cultural.
PPU provides higher educational services to more than 7500 students in addition to thousands of beneficiaries in the lifelong learning programs every year; contributing to the prosperity and development of the Palestinian youth and communities in the southern parts of Palestine.
PPU has developed its vision to become an entrepreneurial university since 2013, and works on accomplishing this vision steadily with the effort of staff, management and the partners from local and international private and public sectors.
Palestine Polytechnic University pursues to achieve sustainability in all of its activities, including education, scientific research, health, food security, and social activities.
The university's sustainability strategy is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). and some of these SDGs were emphasized and prioritized in the university strategy due to our belief in their potential to impact the university and society.
