Specialties of the Committee of Safety and Occupational Health in the Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU):
- The Committee has to examine the working conditions and causes of accidents, injuries and occupational diseases and has to take the necessary measures and precautions to prevent occurring.
- Periodic inspection of all components of the laboratory and engineering equipment in terms of prevention of incidents and experiences of occupational injuries.
- Submission of suggestions to improve the conditions of laboratory environment and to avoid risks and to participate in the formulation of public policy for the prevention of all types of risks.
- Cooperation with the coordinator of occupational safety and health awareness in matters of preventive occupational health and safety of students and all employees.
- Monitor the commitment to safety precautions and occupational health advises in laboratories and engineering workshop.
- Studying the complaints of students about clothing and protective equipment that may not be suitable to them, and replacing or improving them until it is comfortable to them and encourage the students to use them.
- Making imaginary experiments for evacuation plans in emergency states to assure that every student can apply it well.
