PPU collaborated with the Student Union Council to host a free medical day for both students and staff in honor of the late Dr. Abdullah Abu Al-Teen. The event was organized by the Department of Extracurricular Activities in the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Public Relations and Media Department, in conjunction with the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, the College of Nursing, and the Student Union Council. The various university departments worked together to identify the most essential medical services to cater to the needs of all university students.
The university's medical day provided a variety of medical tests, including blood testing for blood type, cholesterol, and glucose levels. Diabetes testing was also available to measure blood sugar levels, while body mass testing involved determining a person's weight and height to calculate their BMI. Vital signs testing was also carried out to measure a person's blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature. The event also featured a blood bank corner in collaboration with the Central Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health, allowing interested individuals to donate blood. Moreover, specialized consultations in nutrition and physiotherapy were available to both university students and staff.
The medical day provided essential examinations and medical consultations across various medical fields to over a thousand students, as well as a significant number of administrative and academic staff members at the university.
