In a national competition organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, PPU emerged victorious, with their students securing first, fourth, and fifth place in the first Palestinian hackathon for quantum computing. The competition attracted 120 participants from all Palestinian universities. 10 students from different Palestinian universities will represent Palestine in the upcoming quantum computing hackathon in the United Arab Emirates as part of the Palestinian team. Among them are three students from Palestine Polytechnic University.
The team leader announced that the Palestinian team, which includes three students from PPU, will receive training in quantum computing from trainers and experts in the field before traveling to the United Arab Emirates to compete in the hackathon. The training will be supported by the Palestinian Computing Hackathon Committee and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Dr. Mousa Farajallah expressed his appreciation and thanked PPU, specifically the university president, Dr. Amjad Barham, and the academic vice president, Dr. Raed Amro, for their support of the university's students in participating in the competition despite limited financial resources. He also thanked the judges from various Palestinian universities for their contribution to this significant national competition. Dr. Farajallah served as the representative of Polytechnic University on the judging panel, while Eng. Khalid Daghameen represented the university's students in the competition.
