PPU concluded the first winter programming hackathon, STEAM, which is part of the UNESCO "Developing Creativity and Sustainable Development and Programming Skills in Public and Private Schools" program in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Education and funded by the Japanese government.
The first winter hackathon was held over the course of six days at the Palestinian Business Prosperity Center (PALPRO) in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, with the involvement of 70 students as well as 19 teachers from robotics, AI, and programming clubs from the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem. The event was overseen by the Ministry of Education as well as Palestine Polytechnic University.
The camp featured games, entertainment, educational activities, and field visits to several factories in the Jericho Agro-Industrial Park (JAIP). At the end of the program, a celebration was held, and the results were announced under the direction of the Minister of Education, Dr. Marwan Awartani, and in the presence of Mr. Ayman Sultan, PPU Vice President for Planning and Development Affairs.
