The staff of the Center for Innovation and Intellectual Property Support (TISC) at Palestine Polytechnic University have received accredited certification in the field of intellectual property and patents. Dr. Loay Shaheen received a certificate in the field of the International Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), dealing with the mechanism of preparation, filing and follow-up of obtaining patents consistent with the PCT, in particular. Dr. Dia Arafeh also has received a certificate in the field of trademarks, industrial models and geographical indications, dealing with the registration and follow-up of intellectual property rights for commercial activities and ways of managing the various intellectual property resources that are consistent with international agreements in this regard.
This step comes in line with the strategy of establishing a National Center for Intellectual Property Support at Palestine Polytechnic University in partnership with the Ministry of National Economy.
It is noteworthy that these centers operate under the umbrella of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a UN agency that provides intellectual property services, general policy, cooperation and information.
