Palestine Polytechnic University wins First Place in Al-Masroji Medical Research Award

 
The PPU has won the Mohammed Al-Masroji Award for Applied Research and Creeative Ideas as the best medical research in Palestine, which was organized by the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence and held at the headquarter of the Council. The Council was presided by Mr. Adnan Samara and attended by Dr. Mohammed Al-Masroji and the Prize Evaluation Committee, including Fathi Abu Moghli, Dr.  Salem Abu Khaizaran, Dr. Lina Masrouji, Dr. Sawsan Abu Sharia, Dr. Yasser Bouzieh, Dr.. Ramzi Al-Qawasmi, and Dr.  Darwish Assali, in addition to Palestinian researchers.
This research is titled " Isolation and Characterization of Klebsiella Pneumonia Bacteriophages ", supervised by the researchers Dr. Fawzi Al-Razem and Murad Ishneiwer and implemented by the following three students: Rawand  Ajlouni, Ameer al-Sharif, and Siham Abu Al-Halawa. The research addresses a major problem in the resistance of these bacteria to antibiotics by finding a vital alternative called Bacteriophages.
It is noteworthy that 31 projects were submitted for the Award this year, of which 10 projects were qualified for the final competition, where the PPU's project received the first place in this competition.
 It should be noted also that this project received the best poster award at the level of Palestinian universities in the Palestinian Conference for Medical Research (PFMR).
