Dr. Osama Atta, from the Department of Electrical Engineering, published a paper in the International Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering & Telecommunications (Vol. 8 , No. 3, May, 2019), peer reviewed journal, indexed  in Scopus/Open  Access: Global Impact Factor 0.454.
The research paper is titled  "Carrier Utilization Strategy for Traffic Load Balancing in Mobile Radio Networks". In this research Dr. Osama  referred to the strategy of using carrier frequency channels to balancing are causing a significant poor carrier utilization in vendor markets. While identified performance carriers need to be retained, underutilized non-performance carriers need to be shut down and credited into the carrier bank. It has been proposed a derived threshold for good carrier utilization and an empirical model that effectively describes a relationship between sector-carrier utilization and average sectors utilized in a market.
