Student: Tabarak al-Natsheh qualified to participate in the World Skills Competition in Russia

The College of Applied Professions at Palestine Polytechnic University has hosted the final national finalists in painting and decoration profession with the participation of three contestants. One of these contestants will be qualified and represent Palestine in the Worldskills competition, held in Kazan, Russia, in late August this year.
The President of Palestine Polytechnic University Prof. Imad Khatib, received in his office,  Mr Abdo Idris, the President of the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Akram Hijazi, the Director of Public Relations and Information in the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Ms. Hiba Sweiti, the Chairman of the Expert Arbitration Committee of the World Skills Organization, and Mr. Musa Bakri and Mr. Feras Darabi', members of the jury,  in the presence of the Vice President for Community Services Dr. Mohammad Ghazi Al-Qawasmi, Acting Dean of the College of Applied Professions  Mr. Fuad Hamdan in addition to the Head of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering Ms. Sumaya Zahdeh and the Chairman of the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Professions  Mr. Zaidan Taha.
The competition, which lasted for 8 hours, has started after the guests went to the laboratories of the College of Applied Professions to start the  activities for qualifying one of the three participants: Tabarak al Natsheh, Maram Al-Balsi and Mohammad Sweiti, who are students and graduates of  the College of Applied Professions
After the competition activities ended, the jury met and discussed the results of the contestants according to international standards and the additional transparent criteria developed by the students. After that, the jury decided to announce the student Tabarak al-Natsheh, the winner, by a narrow margin, in the national competition and, therefore, she has been qualified for the Worldskills competition in Russa Kazan 2019 and represent Palestine.
Al-Sweiti said: "We are trying to shed light on this international competition to encourage young people under the age of 22 to participate in this competition and represent Palestine as well as emphasizing the importance of the TVET sector in economic development."  She also noted that the competition is held once every two years and that it has reached its forty-fifth edition this year and is scheduled to take the city of Kazan in Russia a place for its activities, wishing the Palestinian contestants  to achieve a global achievement to demonstrate their great capabilities.
For his part, Hejazi praised the quality of the students and graduates of Palestine Polytechnic University, wishing that al-Natsheh, would represent Palestine so well  in the WorldSkills competition. Also, he said:" Palestine has succeeded in joining the Worldskills Organization with great efforts, and today  it will participate in electrical installation, beauty, painting and decoration professions. The Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce will continue to expand Palestine's participation to include more professions".
It is noteworthy that the College of Applied Professions is considered to be the largest TVET platform in Palestine.
