Azzam al-Shammas Gets A Palestinian Patent in Cooperation with Palestine Polytechnic University

 

The inventor: Azzam Azmi Al-Shammass  has received  a patent for the production of wooden building wedges from the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy, the General Directorate for Intellectual Property Rights in partnership with the PPU by virtue of a Scientific Cooperation  and Partnership Agreement signed by Dr. Mohammad Ghazi Qawasmi, the University Vice President for Community Service.

This machine is the first of its kind in the industry of wooden wedges in terms of its mechanical idea, its engineering precision, and the features related to the quantity of production in addition to the professional safety it provides to the workers and energy saving.

It is noteworthy that Al-Shammas is interested in innovating and manufacturing machines. He submitted  a proposal to the scientific and practical partnership at the PPU  through the Industrial Synergy Center. The university adopted his patent and later a team was formed under the supervision of Mr. Mekkawi Hraiz and Mr. Yusri al-Taradeh to work on the invention , develop it and make the practical implementation of the machine automation electronically.

Also, the High Council for Innovation and Excellence formed a committee from the university which included Dr. Ramzi al-Qawasmi, Dr. Raed Amro and Mr.  Mekkawi Hraiz to examine the patent. Then the Council made a financial contribution to support the idea of the invention by purchasing some of the industrial equipment required for that purpose.

Dr. Mohammad Ghazi al-Qawasmi, the Vice President of the University Community Service noted that supporting and encouraging  the local creative ideas comes in line with the university strategic trend towards entrepreneurship to promote and raise the practical and scientific level of all the community segments.
