Palestine Polytechnic University beginning preparations for the Closing Symposium forTriple Helix Partnership in the field of Energy and Environment

On October 12, 2016 Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) began preparations for the Closing Symposium for  Triple Helix Partnership  in the field of energy and environment which will be held on December 28, 2016.

This scientific day was a closing activity for the Triple Helix Partnership project, funded by the  Education Quality Development Fund in the higher education institutions QIF - the International Bank. It has come as consistent with the vision and the strategy of Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) and emanated from the notion of creativity and integration that aims at the advancement of the Palestinian community both culturally and economically.  This project as well aims to provide the students of Energy and Environmental Engineering with work opportunities.

The Head of the Preparatory Committee for the Scientific Day Dr. Samir Hanna announced the start of the actual preparations for the final day of the Scientific Triple Helix Partnership in the field of energy and environment on December 28, 2016. This announcement came during a meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Scientific Day in the video-conferencing hall, where the members of the Preparatory Committee stated that this scientific day is just part of a series of scientific days launched by this university.

The Coordinator of the Conference Mrs. Samira Abu Ghalyoun  has pointed out that this scientific day aims to provide a platform for scholars, scientists, researchers, decision-makers and stakeholders from the private and public sectors to discuss issues and challenges related to energy and environment and how to develop them and find ways to sustainability. 

This day also aims to learn about the latest developments in the field of energy and the environment by utilizing from the experiences of both the partners in the project and the local and international speakers. After that they presented some examples that the students experienced while making their projects with the cooperation of the energy and environment sector.

It is noteworthy that the implementation of the project for improving the work opportunities for the students in both Power Engineering and Environmental Engineering (Triple Helix) programs included many activities like developing the academic programs, providing the  laboratories of the College of Engineering with modern and up-to-date laboratory devices, purchasing scientific books, developing the communication skills and building the personality of students, and organizing scientific visits in and outside the country in addition to developing the field training programs and the field training visits as well.
