Palestine Polytechnic University signs a Joint Cooperation Agreement with Bio Zamzam Company

On October 9, 2016, Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) signed a joint cooperation agreement with Bio Zamzan Company in the presence of Mr. Othman Hassouneh, the head of the Council Administration of BioZamzam Company and the head of the Plastic Industries Union in Palestine,  Shadi al-Shareef,  the Finance Director, Dr. Mustafa Abu al-Safa, the Vice-President of the University for Academic Affairs, and  Dr. Hasan Sawalha, the Program Coordinator of Environmental Engineering Technology at the College of Engineering.

This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of scientific research related to biodegradable and environment-friendly plastic industries. The students from the Environmental Engineering Technology program will work on two research projects as their graduation project  for two whole semesters during the present academic year in the area of developing plastic products that is biodegradable and environment-friendly. These two projects will be supervised by an academic staff from the Environment Engineering Technology and the Research Unit of Alternative Energy and Environment at the College of Engineering.

This agreement was signed by Mr. Othman Hassouneh for Bio-Zamzam Company and Dr. Mustafa Abu al-Safa for Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU).

Dr. Abu al-Safa stressed the importance of having such scientific and research cooperation between the university and the private sector and the role of the university in the development of the Palestinian local industries. As well Mr. Hassouneh expressed his pride of the PPU and its scientific competence that has contributed greatly  to the advancement of the Palestinian industries, pointing out that this agreement has come into existence  as a result of such scientific cooperation which will be followed by more collaboration in this field in the future.
