Dr. Amjad Barham, the President of Palestine Polytechnic University, recently attended the Fifth Conference of Presidents of Islamic Universities (VC Forum) in Islamabad, Pakistan. This conference was attended by more than 250 academic leaders from the OIC countries, and it aimed to promote cooperation and dialogue on the future of higher education in the Islamic world. The theme of the conference was "Towards Disruptive Technology in a Globalized World."
During the conference, Dr. Barham participated in a discussion session on the topic of the universality of university education. He spoke about the challenges facing higher education in Palestine and stressed the importance of developing university students’ skills to keep up with the rapid changes in the labor market, both locally and internationally. He also reviewed the strategic goals of PPU, which include simulating international teaching methods, enhancing student participation in training programs and international conferences, and building the capabilities of faculty members.
To achieve these goals, the university is continuously working on developing teaching plans for academic programs, designing training programs for modern teaching methods, and renewing and modernizing its laboratories and workshops with the latest technologies. The ultimate aim is to ensure that PPU stays up-to-date with the labor market, both locally and globally.
