PPU participated in the meetings of the General Assembly of UNIMED, the Mediterranean Universities Union which was held over two days at the University of Jordan in Amman, under the slogan: "Shaping the Mediterranean region from cooperation to integration".
The conference discussed some important topics, including the role of university cooperation in times of crisis, international mobility, media and skills gap, Euro-Mediterranean academic cooperation, open and digital education in the Mediterranean region, employment and entrepreneurship, intercultural dialogue and student organizations, good governance as well as Quality Assurance and Responsibility in Higher Education in the Middle East and North Africa.
The conference concluded by emphasizing the importance of youth empowerment, digital transformation tools, skills needed for the future and connecting higher education institutions with the community in order to create a generation that is equipped with problem-solving skills.
On the sidelines of the conference, a meeting was held with chancellors and representatives of European and Mediterranean universities and institutions to discuss the possibility of joint cooperation in development projects and academic exchange.
The Chancellor and Vice Chancellor organized a visit to the University of Jordan Hospital to strengthen cooperation and discuss mechanisms and dates of clinical training for Faculty of Medicine students at PPU.
