A group of applied biology students: Haya Al Fakhouri, Orjuwan Al-Junaidi, and Hanaa Al-Muhtasib, published a solid scientific study titled " Isolation and Characterization of a Bacteriophage that hosts on Avian-pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC)" in the International Journal of Poultry Science, indexed at SCOUPS.
In this research, viruses capable of devouring and killing pathogenic bacteria of poultry were being isolated and diagnosed.
It is noteworthy that this research is a graduate project for students, supervised by Prof. Murad Ishnaiwer and Dr. Fawzi Al-Razzem. This research paper won the award of Engineer Zuhair Hijjawi as the best research on the medical sciences category at the level of the Palestinian universities. It was also awarded the second place in the Student Innovation Conference, organized by Palestine Polytechnic University.
