The College of Information Technology and Computer Engineering at PPU has received the third place at the State of Palestine in the “Microsoft Imagine Cup” competition.
The competition has aimed at learning the new technological skills in the world of technology. The winning graduation project in the competition which was supervised by Dr. Sami Abu Sneineh and Dr. Elayan Abu Gharbieh has gone to the students : Amani al-Tawil and Sondus Mujahed, outstanding students at the College. The project has dealt with testing the digital circuits (ICs) by using a small-sized cheap device, connected to the mobile phone. The jury was impressed with the idea and the excellence of the project.
Three teams were actually selected by the competition organizers after passing the entry requirements for the final competition. The graduation projects which were selected for the competition were for the following three teams: Rabi’ al-Taradeh and Ameen Talahmeh, supervided by Dr. Musa Farajallah, Ameeneh al-Qawasmeh and Haya Tannineh, supervised by Dr. Amal Dweik, in addition to the winning project for the students: Amani and Sondus, supervised by Dr. Sami Abu Sneineh and Elayan Abu Gharbieh.
The College was represented by Dr. Musa Farajallah, the Chairman of the Department of Computer Engineering, and Mr. Khalid Al-Daghameen , the Academic Staff and Supervisor, at the final awards ceremony.
It is noteworthy that the Microsoft Imagine Cup is a global competition for technology organized by Microsoft Company to give students the opportunity to shed light on their creativity and innovation in making games and applications that can affect the world and solve the community problems.
