The entrepreneurial Business Development Incubator in the IT Center of Excellence at Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU)  has completed the first phase of a series of Jadarah Initiative courses, conducted  in partnership with the UNDP within the project of Economic Empowerment DEEP and funded by the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah.

The aim of this integrated program, which will last for a whole year,  is to enable the students and the graduates of the Palestinian universities in Hebron district to improve the surroundings by making their own startup enterprises to increase the work opportunities through intensive practical training and the embrace of small and micro startup projects.

In this phase, thirteen male and female trainers, qualified and expert in their fields,  were distributed among the different specializations to hold five training sections, targeting 118 participates in this program. The first course was about “ the way to success” with about 150 training hours that included many daily activities and skills to polish and build the students’ characters. Then, it was followed by another course on “how to be an entrepreneur” with approximately 75 training hours in which they discussed  the pros and cons of a job in addition to the study of entrepreneurship option in the reality of employment in our country and the entrepreneurial qualities that are necessary for those wishing to be self-employed. Also, there were discussion on real cases in the world of entrepreneurial business where they learn from the successes and failures of these cases and learn from their experience.

It is noteworthy that these courses are only an introduction to other training courses in the areas of brainstorming, preparing a business model, and writing a work plan. After filtering the number of participants to 15 innovative and pioneering ideas, they will receive a fund to start their businesses.
