On November 9, 2016, the PPU received the Director of the BTC: Derek Dberaz and the Technical Advisor: Raed Rajab, in the presence of the University President Dr. Imad al-Khatib and his vice presidents, the deans of colleges, the members of the academic and administrative bodies, and the Public Relation Department staff.
The University president, Dr. Imad al-Khatib, welcomed the guests and he empathized the role of the BTC in developing the Palestinian economy and the importance of the existing cooperation between the BTC and the PPU through their joint venture initiatives. He also thanked both the Belgian Government and the PPU for their support to the Palestinian developmental project.
After that the Department of Planning and Development at the University presented information about the PPU, its unique programs, and its role in serving the local community. As well they stressed the importance of having joint projects between the two institutions and they discussed the startup projects that are supported by the BTC like the Business incubators at the Center of Excellence of Information Technology and the learning project of the Department of Continuing Education.
From his part, Dberaz, highly valued the positive relationships between the two institutions, pointing out the great role of these relations in making a number of achievements and successes in the projects and the programs supported by his government. Also, he expressed his government’s readiness and willingness to continue such support to the Palestinian universities projects.
